Tracking the career paths of agricultural and forestry graduates using the ELA system

The aim of the study was to present the possibility of using the ELA (Polish Graduate Tracking System) as a tool for monitoring the career paths of agricultural and forestry graduates. A hierarchical agglomeration method was used for its implementation. The grouping of faculties was done on the basis of three indicators: (1) the average time (in months) to look for a full-time job, in the first year after receiving the diploma, among full-time graduates with no work experience before receiving the diploma; (2) the relative unemployment rate of graduates in the first year after receiving the diploma, among full-time graduates with no work experience before receiving the diploma; (3) the relative earnings ratio of graduates in the first year after receiving the diploma, among full-time graduates with no work experience before receiving the diploma. The result of the cluster analysis was the identification of seven groups of agricultural and forestry faculties that differ in the employment situation of their graduates. In the first year after receiving the diploma, agricultural and forestry graduates from life sciences universities were in a better professional situation than graduates from other types of universities.
