This article investigates the axiological issues related to the upbringing of preschool children in the time of the rapid socio-cultural changes based on individualisation, consumerism and radical liberalism. The main objective of the article is to present the process of upbringing a preschool child to values in the postmodern context. Among crucial questions that need to be addressed are: what is the main threat in the process of upbringing in values and to values in contemporary society? Will a child influenced by a postmodern mentality accept, internalise and apply the values in the everyday life? What measures need to be taken to educate children, especially the youngest ones, to adopt as their own the values recognised by Christian civilization? To what extent do kindergarten teachers and educators recognise the current educational challenges arising from the current socio-cultural context?
